Under the watchful eyes of coach, Danny Milton, Sainsbury’s Taplow nightshift manager, Pugsie Hussain, took to the ice in full netminders kit, ready to face members of SPICE JETS. This was all for a great cause. Pugsie has raised £750 in aid of Sport Relief – all he had to do now was face the pucks!!
SPICE Chair, Ricci Hodgson had originally been contacted by Julie Mcquillan, Sainsbury’s PR ambassador, and they arranged this challenge.

So how did Pugsie do on the ice? Coach Milton was complimentary. ‘For someone who has never even been on the ice before, Pugsie did pretty well. It was good fun for the members to shoot on him and the amount he has raised for Sport Relief is great’
The final word goes to SPICE chair Ricci Hodgson who said ‘I was really impressed with Pugsie’s enthusiasm and attitude – for someone who has never faced a puck before, it’s a daunting moment. I was pleased that the challenge was such a success’
